London

Hi !! this is the last message from UK !

We arrived in London thursday evening from Edinburgh, the trip took 9 hours so we were very tired as a result.

The Hostel, here is not as nice as the one in wich we stayed in Edinburgh, however it's in a more central location.

London is enormous crowded and noisy, the Tube is always packed. We have been very fortunate weather wise.

We visited a lot of part of London including bricklane ( traditional working class area wich has become very fashionable ), Camden ( lot of shops and a big market ), the historical centre with the main London's monument like Big Ben, The House of Parliement, The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, London bridge, and the famous park of London.

Tonight, some of us are going to a musical, and the others to the cinema.

We're so sad to leave London, We love London !!! =D

See ya' !!

Monday, for the first time we were allowed to lie

Monday, for the first time we were allowed to lie in!!!! We enjoyed this sacred opportunity. After lunch we went shopping in the city center and we could see many shows of the Fringe festival.

At about 7 p.m, we had dinner in “Frankenstein Bar”, and in the same time we gave our presents to Fred for his birthday.

Tuesday was a really hard day because we woke up early to go to Loch Ness and we stayed a very long time in the bus, about 3:30 hours.

When we got there, we had a tour of the lake on a speed boat. The view was marvelous but unfortunately we didn’t see tiny Nessie.

At the end, we went back the hostel a bit tired.

Saturday, we woke up at 4:30 a.m in order to take

Saturday, we woke up at 4:30 a.m in order to take the ferry to Scotland. We went to the port by taxi and then took the train for Glasgow and then to Edinburgh.

The hostel is located in the outskirts of Edinburgh, in a beautiful place near the sea. It’s the best one we’ve had since the beginning of the trip.

After we checked in, we ordered pizzas for dinner. Then we formed groups: one played billiards, and the others watched TV and the others went to bed.

Next morning, a bus driver brought us on a tour of the clans: we made several s stops before going to Stirling castle.

In the evening we split ourselves in two groups: one having dinner at the hostel and the other in a Turkish restaurant where there was a great ambiance: Laura-Marissa, Maxime, Héloïse… played us guitar.

Belfast

The second day in Belfast, we visited a part of the city by bus: we saw the shipyard where Titanic was built and the catholic/protestant district. However, we failed to be ill because the bus had an open top.

In the afternoon, we went to the beach by train; some of us had a bath in the freezing sea. In the evening, during the same time we were looking for a restaurant we visited the city of Belfast.

The last day, we visited by feet the catholic district with our friend Michael (cf: first day). Then the evening was separated between an English class given by Joseph (alias Spoky) and a cinema in English.

The First Day in Belfast

We left Dublin at 10:30 am after having been waiting the bus for one hour. During the trip Fred told us the politic history of Ireland. Despite it was interesting, some people wasn’t listening to him very attentively because we haven’t been sleeping enough. After the “French invasion” of the hostel, some cooked for the hungry teenagers “pasta carbonara”. Then we were expecting the new English teacher who provoked a big riot when he arrived. He presented himself to us as Joseph, an Irish man and he doesn’t speaking English at all.

In order to finish this “hard day”, we watched the movie “Bloody Sunday” in English (without subtitles!!!). At the beginning, a French speaking Irish man named Mickael explained to us the historical context of the story. We got on well with him and he offered to be our guide for the next day in the catholic district.

Finally, we ran to bed with a lot of enthusiasm!

Nouveau prof!!!

CARDIFF

Notre journal de bord commence maintenant, in english of course!

FRIDAY, 7th.

Today we woke up at 8am, got dressed quickly and had breakfast at around 8.30am. We left our hostel at around 9am and went to get information and change money. We visited Cardiff Castle and we have been very lucky with the gorgeous weather! Cardiff Castle is a medieval Normand castle, it has been renovated throughout the centuries and entirely refurbished thanks to the Marquis of Bute.

After the visit we were starving, so we bought delicious industrial sandwiches and drinks in a Spar shop. We had to find a nice place where to eat so the whole group decided to go to Cardiff Castle park. It is also an arboratorium, a fresh and sunny place with different kinds of trees.

After lunch, we divided into two groups. One of the groups was supposed to go to the Millenium Stadium and the other one went to look for something to do in the evening. Unfortunately, the visit of the Stadium had to be booked in advance, so instead the group went for a walk into town on their own.

At 5pm, we went to take the Waterbus (a sort of flyboat) but as there weren't enough seats on the boat, some people went back to the hostel to chill out. The Waterbus group arrived to Cardiff Bay and had a walk along the quays.

At 7pm, the two groups met again at an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was cool and funny. In the afternoon, one group heard about a concert in a pub so we decided to spend the evening there; two musicians played guitar and sang accoustic rock. Almost everybody found it great, and even though the concert was a bit short, we all had a great night out!
